Qoray Mobility & Energies unveils founding executive team behind 2,150 EVs and N20 billion clean energy drive

By

Qoray Mobility & Energies Ltd (QORAY), a Nigerian clean energy and sustainable mobility company, has formally introduced its founding Executive Leadership Team. The team has collectively driven the deployment of over 2,150 electric vehicles, more than 7MWh of decentralised solar systems, and over N20 billion in clean energy assets across Nigeria.

Founding team and leadership

The company is led by Founder and Chief Executive Officer Olabanjo Alimi, alongside Co-Founders Akinkunmi Akingbogun (Vice President, Mobility) and Ayo Falola (Vice President, Renewable Energy). The founding team brings expertise built from years within Nigeria's financial sector, where they helped architect the country's clean energy and mobility ecosystem before choosing to own the mission themselves.

“Our mission is to drive Africa’s transition to clean energy and sustainable mobility through community, innovation, and partnerships. QORAY exists to power progress sustainably and inclusively,” said Olabanjo Alimi, Founder & CEO.

Executive profiles

Olabanjo Alimi built QORAY at the convergence of Nigeria’s clean energy, mobility, and financial sectors. He previously served as Divisional Head, Renewable Energy & Mobility at Sterling Bank, and as COO and Executive Director at Eterna PLC. His career also spans leadership roles at Enyo Retail & Supply and Oando Marketing (now NNPC Retail), where he managed portfolios exceeding USD 400 million.

Akinkunmi Akingbogun is an engineer and clean-mobility executive with over two decades of experience spanning engineering, energy, banking, and leadership development. He holds degrees in Civil Engineering, Water & Environmental Engineering, and Business Marketing, and has completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School. Prior to co-founding QORAY, he held leadership roles at OVH Energy and Sterling Bank as Group Head, Mobility & Projects, Renewable Energy. Under his leadership, QORAY’s flagship Electric Teak tricycle achieved a Guinness World Record by covering 347.11 kilometres in 12 hours.

“Our focus at QORAY is creating accessible mobility solutions that redefine how Africa moves — sustainably, efficiently, and affordably,” said Akinkunmi Akingbogun, Co-Founder & VP, Mobility.

Ayo Falola is a business development and sustainability leader with over 14 years of experience across banking, energy, logistics, and renewable sectors. He leads the Renewable Energy Division, driving energy financing, decentralised system deployment, and partnerships. He has led the deployment of over 7MWh of distributed solar systems across Nigeria, with a strong focus on SMEs and underserved communities.

“We’re proving that sustainability and profitability are not opposites; they’re partners in progress. QORAY is where innovation meets impact,” said Ayo Falola, Co-Founder & VP, Renewable Energy.

Key milestones and operations

QORAY is a Lagos-based company operating across electric vehicle manufacturing and trading, renewable energy systems, and logistics and mobility solutions. Key milestones include Nigeria’s first publicly accessible EV charging station, the largest network of EV charging and battery-swap stations in the country, and over 100 local technicians trained under the Green Upskill programme. The company also established Cabzero as Nigeria’s first all-electric B2B leasing and ride-hailing platform, scaling to over 100 EVs. Over 180.8 metric tons of carbon emissions have been reduced through electric mobility adoption.

For Nigerian businesses and consumers, QORAY’s expansion signals growing access to locally assembled electric vehicles and decentralised solar systems, which could reduce transport and energy costs while creating thousands of green jobs across the country.
