PZ Cussons Posts N260.46 Billion Revenue, Profit Jumps 388% in FY 2026
By Aboki Forex —
PZ Cussons Nigeria recorded N260.46 billion in revenue for the financial year ended May 31, 2026, a 22% increase from the N212.63 billion reported in FY 2025. Profit after tax surged 388% to N49.10 billion, up from N10.07 billion in the prior year.
Cost Efficiency and Volume Growth Drive Performance
The company's unaudited results filed with the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) showed that Cost of Sales as a percentage of revenue dropped to 72%, improving by 100 basis points year-on-year. Management attributed this to a better product mix and supply chain efficiencies.
Marketing and distribution expenses rose 48.2% to N26.51 billion, compared with N17.89 billion in FY 2025. Administrative expenses also climbed to N21.07 billion from N14.70 billion in the previous financial year.
CEO Highlights Brand Strength and Execution Discipline
Chief Executive Officer Oghale Elueni said the strong results reflected the strength of the business, the equity of its brands, and disciplined execution. He noted that the 22% revenue growth came from a healthy mix of volume and price initiatives, even in a challenging operating environment.
“The balance sheet was further de-leveraged and strengthened through a cash-accretive P&L and efficient working capital management. The impact has been an improvement in the net asset position from N17.3 billion negative at the beginning of the year to N70.6 billion at year-end,” Elueni said.
He added that the business grew volumes in both the electrical and consumer segments by investing in brands and sharpening go-to-market capabilities. This resulted in market share gains for major brands, increased household penetration, and robust volume uplift.
Outlook and Shareholder Confidence
Elueni expressed appreciation to shareholders for their support over the past 12 months. He stated that the board remains confident the business is sufficiently resourced to deliver value despite geopolitical uncertainties and their economic shocks.
“We have a business that has strong brands, an adaptive operating framework and a culture of disciplined execution that supports the consistent delivery of value to stakeholders,” he said.
For Nigerian consumers and businesses, PZ Cussons' improved profitability and stronger balance sheet signal that the company is better positioned to manage input costs and maintain product availability, even as the naira remains under pressure and inflation persists.
