NNPC Limited Profit After Tax Jumps 33% to N7.2tn in 2025

By —

NNPC Limited has reported a 33 percent rise in profit after tax for 2025, with the figure climbing from N5.4 trillion in 2024 to N7.2 trillion. The state oil company disclosed the results at its Annual General Meeting and earnings call, where it presented audited financial results for the 2025 financial year.

The company reported revenue of N34.5 trillion for the year. Earnings per share stood at N35.9.

Profit rises despite subsidy removal and lower crude prices

NNPC Limited said the profit increase came despite a decline in crude oil prices. It also came despite reduced white-product volumes following the removal of fuel subsidy. The company credited improved operational efficiency and disciplined management for the higher profitability.

Taxes, royalties and other remittances to government

The oil company recorded a 39 percent increase in taxes, royalties and other remittances to government. The total rose to N22.3 trillion. That is a key number for public finances because it represents funds flowing from the national oil company to government.

Crude oil and gas output

On operations, crude oil and condensate production reached a five-year high of 1.77 million barrels per day at its peak. Nigerian gas supply climbed to a three-year high of 7.2 billion standard cubic feet per day.

For Nigerian businesses and consumers, the results signal higher government receipts from the oil company at a time when crude prices were lower. The N22.3 trillion in remittances and the N7.2 trillion profit are the main financial takeaways from the 2025 audited results.
