The naira suffered its worst single-day depreciation in two weeks at the official foreign exchange market on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed the currency weakened to N1,380.08 per dollar, down from N1,370.64 on Tuesday. That is a loss of N9.44 in one day.

At the black market, the naira held steady at N1,400 per dollar, the same rate reported by multiple bureau de change operators.

The latest decline comes even as Nigeria's external reserves climbed to $51.17 billion as of June 23, 2026.
