Naira Depreciates at Official Window, Trades at N1,357/$1 on Tuesday

The Nigerian naira weakened against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange window on Tuesday, 16th June 2026. Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) shows the naira traded at N1,357.1808 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).

The currency closed the day at N1,356.5000 per dollar. This marks a depreciation of at least N0.91 compared to the previous rate of N1,356.2704 recorded on Monday, 15th June 2026.

At the parallel market, the naira performed differently. The buying rate appreciated by N2, while the selling rate went up by N5 compared to the rates on 10th June 2026. Black market rates stood at N1,395 for buying and N1,405 for selling.
