The naira opened the trading week weaker against the US dollar, trading at N1,331.3292 at the Central Bank of Nigeria official foreign exchange window on Monday, September 28, 2026. Data on the CBN platform showed the currency traded at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market rate of N1,331.3292 per dollar and closed at N1,331.5000 per dollar.

The naira had traded at an NFEM rate of N1,329.5138 on September 25, 2026. That left a depreciation of at least N1.82 after Monday's trading activities.

Parallel Market Movement

At the parallel market, the buying rate remained the same while the selling rate decreased by N3 when compared with the previous trading rate on Friday, September 25, 2026. According to AbokiFX, the naira to dollar exchange rate at the black market on Monday, September 28, 2026, was N1,375 and N1,382 per dollar for buying and selling rates, respectively.
