Naira Drops by N2 Against Dollar at Official Window, Black Market Steady

The Nigerian naira depreciated against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange window on Monday. Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria shows the naira traded at N1,373.7004 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market. It closed at N1,373.5000 per dollar.

On Friday, 15th May 2026, the naira traded at N1,371.0391 per dollar. This means the currency lost at least N2 over the weekend.

At the parallel market, the naira to dollar buying rate increased by N2. The selling rate remained unchanged from Friday's level. According to AbokiFX, black market rates on Monday stood at N1,395 for buying and N1,400 for selling per dollar.
