Naira Dips by 15 Kobo at Official Window, Black Market Rates Hold Steady

The Nigerian naira depreciated slightly against the US dollar at the Central Bank of Nigeria official foreign exchange window on Friday, 15th May 2026. Data from the CBN platform shows the naira traded at N1,371.0400 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, closing at N1,372.0000 per dollar.

On Thursday, 14th May 2026, the NFEM rate was N1,370.8862. Comparing the two rates, the naira lost at least 15 kobo against the dollar.

Black Market Rates

At the parallel market, the buying rate for the naira increased by N1, while the selling rate remained unchanged from the previous day. According to AbokiFX, the black market rates on Friday were N1,393 for buying and N1,400 for selling per dollar.
