Naira depreciates to N1,383/$ at official FX market

The Nigerian naira started the week on a weak note against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange market. Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria shows the naira traded at N1,383.6262 per dollar on Monday, June 29, 2026.

This represents a slight depreciation of N2.69 compared to the previous rate of N1,380.9329 recorded on Friday, June 26, 2026. The currency closed at N1,385.0000 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market.

At the parallel market, the naira also lost ground. AbokiFX data shows the buying rate fell by N3 to N1,390 per dollar. The selling rate dropped by N5 to N1,395 per dollar.

Traders say demand pressure continues to weigh on the naira across both markets.
