Naira opens week with gains at official FX market, parallel market rates up

The naira opened the week's trading with gains against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market. At the parallel market, buying and selling rates also moved higher compared with the previous trading day.

Black market rates

At the black market, the buying rate increased by N8 to N1,398, while the selling rate rose by N5 to N1,405. The previous rates were recorded on Friday, August 28, 2026.

The buying rate now stands at N1,398, and the selling rate is N1,405. These figures reflect the latest parallel market transactions as the naira attempts to hold ground against the dollar.
