Naira Appreciates at Official Window, Weakens by N5 at Parallel Market

The Nigerian naira appreciated against the United States dollar at the Central Bank of Nigeria official foreign exchange window on Tuesday, 9th June 2026. Data from the CBN shows the naira traded at N1,360.5519 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market. It closed at N1,359.5000 per dollar.

This represents a slight gain of at least N1.05 compared to the previous day's rate of N1,362.8397 recorded on 8th June 2026.

At the parallel market, the naira took a different turn. The buying rate depreciated by N5, while the selling rate remained unchanged from the previous trading day. According to AbokiFX, the black market exchange rate on Tuesday stood at N1,390 per dollar for buying and N1,400 per dollar for selling.
