Nigeria's manufacturing sector contributed N329.59 billion in Value Added Tax revenue in the first quarter of 2026. That is up from N286.95 billion in the same period last year. The sector remains one of the country's largest sources of non-oil tax receipts.

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows the latest figure also beats quarterly contributions recorded throughout 2025. The economy grew by 3.89 percent year-on-year in Q1 2026. Manufacturing accounted for 9.57 percent of real Gross Domestic Product.

Manufacturing VAT collections have stayed strong over the past five quarters. They stood at N286.95 billion in Q1 2025. They rose to N297.68 billion in Q2 2025 and N290.79 billion in Q3 2025. The sector generated N292.12 billion in Q4 2025 before climbing to N329.59 billion in Q1 2026.

Total VAT from the manufacturing sector hit N1.17 trillion in 2025. That compares with N803.53 billion in 2024. The Q1 2026 figure points to sustained production and consumption across the sector.
