Insurance Meets Tech names Nigeria’s 10 to watch insurance innovators driving digital future

By

Insurance Meets Tech, or IMT, has named its first 10 To Watch list. The list recognises companies using technology to reshape insurance access and operations across Nigeria.

Creato Urban, a PR and marketing agency, developed the framework. It evaluates companies on two equally weighted metrics. The first is digital transformation depth, which looks at the sophistication and ambition of internal technology. The second is market impact, which measures the reach and relevance of digital innovation to Nigerian policyholders.

The methodology rewards both operational excellence and inclusive growth. IMT says technology in insurance must serve efficiency and access equally.

Here are the IMT 10 To Watch Insurance Innovators.

10. Zenith General Insurance Company Limited. Digital Transformation Depth: 66/100. Market Impact: 64/100. Combined Score: 65/100. Zenith General has built a solid digital foundation with its E-business platform, Quote Management System, claims portal, and marine certificate infrastructure. The next step is turning that foundation into market-defining innovation.

9. Noor Takaful. Digital Transformation Depth: 70/100. Market Impact: 72/100. Combined Score: 71/100. Noor Takaful offers a Sharia-compliant digital insurance model. It targets communities and market segments often overlooked by conventional insurers. Its mobile-first platform, real-time policy management, digital onboarding, and open API strategy for bancatakaful partners represent meaningful innovation. Its 2026 roadmap includes AI-assisted claims processing and personalised dashboards.
