DMO allots N6.69bn September savings bond to investors
By Aboki Forex —
The Federal Government allotted N6.69 billion to domestic investors in the September 2026 FGN Savings Bond, according to results published by the Debt Management Office (DMO).
The allotment was split across two tranches: a 2-year savings bond at 14.12 percent interest per annum and a 3-year savings bond at 15.12 percent per annum.
How the two tranches split
The DMO allotted N1.282 billion to the 2-year bond, which attracted 1,690 bids. The 3-year bond got the larger share, with N5.407 billion allotted against 3,209 bids.
Total bids across both tranches came to 4,899.
Offer, settlement and maturity dates
The bonds were offered from September 7 to 11, 2026. Settlement for the allotments was September 16, 2026.
The 2-year bond matures on September 16, 2028, while the 3-year bond matures on September 16, 2029.
Quarterly coupon payments
Coupon returns will be paid quarterly. The DMO listed the payment dates as December 16, March 16, June 16 and September 16 every year until the bonds reach full maturity.
The FGNSB is a retail instrument sold in small units, which is why the September sale drew thousands of individual bids rather than the large single-ticket subscriptions seen at Treasury bill auctions.
