By

The Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS) reported a 115.7% rise in profit before tax to N6.49 billion for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026. This compares with N3.01 billion in the same period of 2025.

The jump came after the company overhauled its fee structure in January. Fees income nearly doubled to N7.31 billion, up 95.6% from a year earlier.

Profit after tax climbed 74.8% to N4.67 billion. Earnings per share rose to 93.3 kobo from 53.4 kobo.

Total operating income hit N8.28 billion, an 83.7% increase. Operating profit surged 194.6% to N4.97 billion.

Investment income grew modestly by 14.9% to N1.52 billion. Total operating expenses rose 17.3% to N3.31 billion.

The results mark CSCS's strongest opening quarter on record. They show that the company's controversial fee review is already boosting earnings.
