Naira Gains Against Dollar at Official Market, Parallel Rate Mixed

The Nigerian naira strengthened against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange window on Tuesday, 2nd June 2026. Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria shows the naira traded at N1,361.0479 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market. It closed at N1,360.2200 per dollar.

The currency resumed weekly trading on Monday, 1st June, with an NFEM rate of N1,366.7950. Comparing Tuesday’s rate with Monday’s, the naira appreciated by at least N5.

At the parallel market, the naira-to-dollar buying rate increased by N2. The selling rate increased by N5 compared to the previous trading day. According to AbokiFX, the black market exchange rate on Tuesday was N1,387 for the buying rate and N1,395 per dollar for the selling rate.
