NNPCL cuts petrol price to N1,325 in Abuja, N1,355 in Lagos as depot rates shift

By —

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has reduced petrol pump prices at its filling stations in Abuja and Lagos after Dangote Refinery reviewed prices downward. Checks on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, showed NNPCL outlets in Abuja selling at N1,325 per litre, down from N1,370 to N1,405.

The cut means Abuja motorists are paying between N45 and N80 less per litre. NNPCL stations along Kubwa Expressway and in Gwarinpa were already selling at the new rate. In Lagos, NNPCL stations reduced their price by N5 to N1,355 per litre from N1,360.

Depot prices move in different directions

Petroleumprice.ng data showed uneven movements in depot prices across Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Warri. In Lagos, Rain Oil raised its price by N60 to N1,350 per litre. A.A. Rano moved up by N2 to N1,295. MRS dropped by N5 to N1,305. Pinnacle lowered its rate by N2 to N1,303. Wosbab cut its price by N10 to N1,290. Nipco held steady at N1,290 per litre.

Port Harcourt, Calabar and Warri rates

In Port Harcourt, Bulk Strategic raised its price by N26 to N1,310 per litre. Masters increased by N27 to N1,310. T.S.L added N10 to also close at N1,310. In Calabar, Fynefield made the largest single cut, reducing its price by N45 to N1,315. Northwest went the other way with a N12 increase to N1,330.

In Warri, A.Y.M. Shafa and Matrix kept their prices unchanged at N1,300 per litre. Parker raised its rate by N10 to N1,310.

NNPC share sale plan

NNPC also plans to sell part of its shares to Nigerians through an initial public offering after Dangote Petroleum Refinery completed a public share sale. NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer Bashir Bayo Ojulari disclosed the plan in an interview with Reuters on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The listing could allow ordinary Nigerians and institutional investors to own a stake in the national oil company for the first time.

What it means for motorists

The Abuja cut is the sharpest retail relief in the latest review, while Lagos recorded a smaller N5 reduction. The mixed depot prices mean marketers are responding differently to supply costs, so pump prices may continue to vary across states. Dangote Refinery pricing adjustments are still influencing both depot and retail rates nationwide.
