DStv unveils four new packages priced N6,000 to N44,500, takes effect November 5

By —

MultiChoice Nigeria will replace its current DStv bouquet with four new packages from November 5, 2026, with monthly subscriptions running from N6,000 to N44,500. The company unveiled the lineup in Lagos on Tuesday, October 27.

The new packages are Starter, Select, Sports and Premium. MultiChoice says they are built to give subscribers more options based on budget and viewing preferences, with more channels pushed into the lower tiers.

What each package costs

DStv Starter goes for N6,000 a month. Select is priced at N11,000, Sports at N21,000, and Premium at N44,500.

Starter, which replaces the old Access package, will carry entry-level entertainment plus selected football. It will host the new SuperSport KICKOFF channel, which will broadcast the Premier League Match of the Week and selected UEFA Champions League fixtures. The La Liga channel will also move down to Starter.

Select replaces DStv Family and targets households that want a wider mix of movies, local and international series, children's programmes and selected sports.

Sports is dedicated to fans, offering every Premier League and UEFA Champions League match alongside other competitions. It will also carry the general entertainment channels available on the lower packages.

Premium stays the flagship option. It combines the full Sports offering with Formula 1, major tennis tournaments, golf and international series.

Channel changes and rebrand

MultiChoice is also refreshing its entertainment lineup. Africa Magic Family will be rebranded as Africa Magic+. The movie portfolio will feature M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends.

The company says the revised lineup is meant to deliver more recent films, a broader entertainment mix and fewer repeated programmes.

The shuffle means some premium sports content will now sit on cheaper packages, so subscribers can access selected top-tier content without paying for Premium.

What existing subscribers should know

The revamp falls under MultiChoice's Expect More campaign, coming after its integration into CANAL+.

The packages will be available to new customers from November 5. Existing subscribers affected by the changes will be migrated automatically in phases.

Customers do not need to take any action unless they want a different package from the one assigned to them. MultiChoice also says no one needs to buy a new decoder or manually update the DStv Stream app to access the new offerings.

Subscribers can check their current plans and compare the new packages on the DStv website, the MyDStv app or through customer service channels.

For Nigerian households, the entry price holding at N6,000 keeps the cost of basic pay-TV football within reach, even as the total number of packages drops from the old structure to four.
