Five Nigerian Loan Apps Offering Salary Earners Up to N10m in 2026

By —

Nigerian salary earners looking for quick credit in 2026 have at least five digital lenders to consider, with loan limits ranging from N6,000 to N10 million. Approval still depends on income checks, credit history and each lender’s requirements, not just regular salary payments.

Borrowers are also being urged to check the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) register of digital money lenders before accepting any offer. The advice is to compare total repayment costs and make sure instalments fit a monthly budget.

Renmoney and Credit Direct

Renmoney advertises one of the highest limits among the five platforms. Eligible borrowers can access up to N10 million, with repayment periods extending to 12 months. Applicants must show a verifiable income source. The platform may suit established salaried workers seeking substantial financing for urgent commitments, but borrowers should examine interest charges, fees and monthly repayment obligations before taking large loans.

Credit Direct offers a clearer option for private-sector employees. Applicants must earn a minimum net monthly salary of N100,000, show at least six months of salary history and maintain a satisfactory credit record. Qualified borrowers can access up to N5 million, with repayment periods extending to 12 months. The platform also provides digital financial services, including transfers and bill payments. Applicants should confirm the interest rate and total repayment amount before proceeding.

FairMoney, Carbon and Branch

FairMoney combines digital banking with personal lending and offers eligible customers loans of up to N3 million. Users can also access bank accounts, transfers, payment cards and bill-payment services. These features may appeal to employees who want to manage everyday transactions alongside credit facilities. Borrowers should still review the repayment schedule, interest charges and fees because convenient access does not necessarily mean cheaper loans.

Carbon offers personal loans of up to N1 million, with advertised repayment periods extending to 12 months. It also provides account services, payments and card-management features. Its loan offering may suit salary earners financing defined expenses without applying for much larger amounts. Interest rates can vary significantly depending on individual eligibility and credit assessments. Borrowers should compare actual repayment figures rather than relying only on advertised rates.

Branch offers borrowing options from N6,000 to N2 million, making it accessible to applicants seeking relatively modest amounts. Its lower entry point may appeal to workers managing unexpected expenses without taking on excessive debt. However, the platform’s broad advertised annual percentage rate range means borrowing costs can differ considerably between applicants. Customers should examine the total repayment amount, interest charges and due dates before accepting an offer, TechCabal reported.

What Borrowers Should Check

Before borrowing, Nigerians should confirm a lender’s current regulatory status through the FCCPC’s official digital lending register and other applicable regulatory records. Inclusion on a regulatory list does not guarantee loan approval, affordable interest rates or favourable repayment terms.

Salary earners should also calculate essential monthly expenses, including rent, transportation, feeding, utilities and existing debt obligations. A loan becomes financially risky when repayments consume money needed for basic household responsibilities.

The best loan app is not necessarily the one offering the highest amount. It is the lender providing transparent charges and repayments the borrower can comfortably manage. For Nigerian workers, the difference between a useful credit line and a debt trap often comes down to checking total cost before signing.
