Burna Boy launches On sneaker line with Nigerian prices from N202,000

By —

Burna Boy has launched a three-design sneaker collection with Swiss sportswear company On, priced from $150 to $180, or about N202,000 to N242,000 depending on the exchange rate. The collection went on sale on Thursday, October 22, 2026, through On's official website, physical stores and selected retailers, including Foot Locker.

The launch comes more than a year after the Grammy-winning singer signed a multi-year partnership with On in September 2025. The deal made Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, the company's Clubhouse President, a role linking music, tennis, fashion and contemporary culture.

What is in the collection

The most expensive sneaker is the Cloudmonster at $180, about N242,000. It comes in a deep-red colour called Sienna, with matching uppers and cushioned soles designed for running.

The Cloudtilt Remix costs $170, about N229,000. It is designed for walking and casual wear and comes in a dark-brown shade called Ox Brown with matching soles.

The third and most affordable option is the Roger Clubhouse at $150, about N202,000. Inspired by tennis, the white sneaker has leather uppers, metal eyelets, visible heel stitching and an embossed On logo.

All three designs are available in unisex sizes. The changes focus mainly on colours, materials and finishing rather than entirely new shoe structures.

Partnership and Clubhouse role

The partnership also supports Clubhouse Nights, an entertainment initiative that combines sporting activities with musical performances and artistic exhibitions. Events have been held in major cities including New York, Miami and Paris. Burna Boy headlined the Paris edition and later hosted an exclusive Clubhouse event in Lagos in late 2025.

The singer described music, sports and community as interconnected parts of his creative identity. On Chief Executive Martin Hoffmann praised Burna Boy's influence, saying the musician's impact extends beyond entertainment into communities worldwide.

On was founded in Zurich in 2010. Tennis legend Roger Federer acquired a stake in the company in 2019 and later took part in developing its tennis-inspired footwear. Hollywood actress Zendaya joined the brand in June 2024, collaborating on footwear designs and promotional campaigns.

Business backdrop

On reported revenue of CHF850.3 million in the quarter ending June 2026, a 13.5% increase. It also recorded net income of CHF105 million, reversing a loss in the corresponding period a year earlier.

For Burna Boy, the sneaker launch adds to a run that includes the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2021 for Twice as Tall. In July 2023, he became the first African artist to headline and sell out New York's Citi Field. His eighth studio album, No Sign of Weakness, was released in July 2025. Separately, Burna Boy has been described as owner of what is called the most expensive car in Africa, a detail fellow Afrobeats star Davido noticed.

For Nigerian consumers, the naira prices place the sneakers in the premium segment. For local fashion and sportswear businesses, the launch shows how global brands are using African entertainment stars to reach Nigerian and diaspora buyers.
