Cement Prices: Dangote at ₦13,100, BUA at ₦12,800, HBM at ₦12,600 per Bag in Abuja

By —

A standard 50kg bag of Dangote 3X cement is quoted at ₦13,100 in Abuja, BUA cement at ₦12,800 and HBM Elephant cement at ₦12,600, according to an online price listing updated on October 15, 2026.

That puts HBM ₦500 cheaper per bag than Dangote 3X, while BUA is ₦300 cheaper than Dangote. The figures are indications only, and dealer quotations can differ across the country.

What 100 bags cost

For buyers handling bulk orders, the gap widens quickly. At the listed prices, 100 bags of Dangote 3X cement would cost ₦1.31 million, BUA would cost ₦1.28 million and HBM Elephant would cost ₦1.26 million.

A buyer taking 100 bags of HBM Elephant would spend ₦50,000 less than someone buying the same quantity of Dangote 3X.

Those figures exclude transportation, unloading and other charges, which can push the final cost higher. Buyers are also advised to compare products of similar grades and specifications before deciding which brand offers the best value.

Prices differ by city and dealer

Cement prices move from one market to another, even for the same brand. A market report in September found Dangote and BUA prices differed across Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Ibadan, with some dealer quotations reaching ₦15,000 per 50kg bag.

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission reported in August that market prices rose from roughly ₦9,300 to ₦9,700 per bag in January 2026 to between ₦10,500 and ₦13,000 by mid-year. Some locations recorded ₦13,000 to ₦15,000 in July.

The commission said it was investigating whether the prevailing prices could be explained by legitimate production and distribution costs, or whether anti-competitive practices contributed to the increases.

What it means for builders

Cement remains a major cost line for Nigerians building houses, renovating property or buying building materials. Comparing quotations from multiple dealers, confirming the product grade and asking for delivery charges before placing a bulk order can save real money on large projects.
