Dangote Refinery IPO plan for students
Minister of Education Dr Tunji Alausa praised the Aliko Dangote Foundation over its plan to buy Dangote Refinery IPO shares for eligible Nigerian tertiary institution students. He described it as a forward-thinking approach to youth empowerment and financial education. Under the proposed scheme, every qualifying student aged 18 and above would receive 10 IPO shares at no cost, with the foundation bearing the financial burden. If fully implemented, the programme could reach up to four million students.
The rebound restores some value to listed equities after Monday's N1.47 trillion loss. It offers relief to investors, though it does not erase the previous session's decline.
