First Bank of Nigeria Limited has opened applications for its 2026 Technology Academy Programme, a training scheme aimed at giving young graduates hands-on exposure to technology operations in the banking sector.

The programme is open to graduates who are passionate about technology, innovation and continuous learning. Applicants must meet a set of requirements before they can be considered.

Who can apply

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a related discipline.

They must also have a minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) or its equivalent, and must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme or hold a valid exemption certificate.

The bank is also asking for strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus a demonstrated passion for technology, innovation and continuous learning.

What successful candidates will do

Those selected will get exposure across several technology areas, including software engineering, application support and development, cybersecurity, infrastructure services, and data science and analytics.

The programme is expected to give participants the chance to build relevant technical skills while gaining practical knowledge of how technology works inside a bank.

How to apply

Interested and qualified applicants should visit First Bank's official recruitment platform to review the full eligibility requirements and submit their applications.

The application deadline is October 18, 2026. Applicants are advised to confirm they meet all the eligibility requirements before submitting.

For Nigerian graduates in science and technology fields, the opening adds another entry route into banking, where software, cybersecurity and data roles are becoming a bigger part of daily operations.
