Dangote Refinery IPO: 32 Approved Channels to Buy Shares at ₦525 Each

By

Nigerians who want a stake in Aliko Dangote's refinery can now subscribe through 32 approved channels, including banks, fintech platforms, mobile money operators and NGX Invest. Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE published the list on its official initial public offering (IPO) website.

The shares are offered at ₦525 each, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares costing ₦5,250. The company is offering 4.1 billion ordinary shares, and the offer is scheduled to run from September 14 to October 13, 2026.

19 banks on the approved list

The refinery has approved 19 banks for investors who want to subscribe through traditional banking channels. They are Access Bank, Ecobank, FCMB, Fidelity Bank, FirstBank, Globus Bank, GTCO, Jaiz Bank, Keystone Bank, Lotus Bank, PremiumTrust Bank, Providus Bank, Stanbic IBTC, Sterling Bank, TAJ Bank, UBA, Union Bank, Wema Bank and Zenith Bank.

The long list gives investors options across commercial, non-interest and regional banks, and means a customer can walk into a familiar branch to begin the process.

Fintech, mobile money and NGX Invest

Investors who prefer digital services can subscribe through 10 approved fintech platforms: Bamboo, Flutterwave, InvestNaija, Ladder, Moniepoint, Paga, Payaza, PiggyVest, Vetiva Invest and we.yan.

Two mobile money operators are also on the list: Airtel SmartCash and MTN MoMo. NGX Invest, the investment platform of the Nigerian Exchange, is the final approved channel, bringing the total to 32.

The inclusion of fintech companies widens access beyond bank branches, particularly for Nigerians who handle most of their money through apps and wallets. Mobile money channels also reach users who may not hold active bank accounts.

Warning against unofficial channels

The company urged prospective investors to stick to the approved subscription channels listed on its official IPO website. "Only subscribe through the channels listed on this page. Do not subscribe through any channel not confirmed here," the company stated.

The warning matters because public offers often attract fraudulent agents and unofficial payment channels. Investors should confirm the platform they intend to use before sending money.

The offer is part of Dangote Refinery's plan to raise capital from Nigerian investors through the sale of ordinary shares. The refinery has drawn significant attention since it began operations, and the IPO is seeking to broaden local participation in its ownership.

Investors should review the official offer documents, understand the risks and confirm the applicable subscription terms before committing funds. Submitting an application and making payment is only the beginning of the investment journey.

The naira angle is straightforward. A wider pool of local buyers, from bank customers to wallet users, could pull more domestic savings into the capital market rather than into dollar holdings. A successfully subscribed offer would also signal that Nigerian retail investors are willing to back large domestic industrial assets.
