Five countries offering Nigerians five-year multiple-entry visas

Nigerians who travel abroad for business, tourism or family visits can secure five-year multiple-entry visas from the UK, Schengen area, India, South Africa and the UAE. Approval is not automatic. It depends on the destination country, the applicant's circumstances, travel history, finances and purpose of travel.
UK and Schengen options
The United Kingdom offers long-term Standard Visitor visas valid for two, five or 10 years. A five-year UK visitor visa permits multiple visits during the validity period. Visitors are generally allowed to stay for up to six months per visit. Applicants must satisfy UK visitor requirements and show they are genuine visitors with sufficient funds to support their trips.
Eligible Nigerians with strong travel records may qualify for a five-year multiple-entry Schengen visa. Under the EU Visa Code, these visas can be issued for up to five years. Travellers who have previously used shorter-term visas lawfully can get progressively longer validity. The visa remains a short-stay visa. Holders are generally restricted to 90 days within any 180 days.
India and South Africa for frequent travellers
India offers eligible Nigerian travellers long-term multiple-entry visas for tourism and business. A five-year visa can benefit Nigerians with regular business interests, family connections or other legitimate reasons for frequent travel. Applicants must satisfy applicable visa requirements, and approval is subject to Indian immigration authorities' assessment.
South Africa gives qualifying Nigerian businesspeople access to five-year multiple-entry visas. The country has introduced measures to make business travel easier for eligible Nigerian businesspeople. This option is useful for Nigerians who frequently visit South Africa for meetings, investment, business and other professional activities.
UAE five-year tourist visa
The United Arab Emirates offers a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa to eligible applicants, regardless of nationality, subject to approval. The visa permits multiple entries over five years, with stays of up to 90 days per visit. Extensions may be possible, but the total period spent in the UAE is subject to annual limits.
Legit.ng earlier reported that the UAE released details of its 60-day multiple-entry visit visa through the licensed visa platform govr.ae. That visa permits holders to enter and exit the UAE as many times as they wish within 60 days from issue, with no cap on entries. However, the total duration of stay cannot exceed 60 days across all visits combined.
What this means for travellers
For Nigerian businesspeople and frequent travellers, these five-year visas cut the cost and stress of reapplying before every trip. They also make last-minute travel easier. But approval remains discretionary, so applicants need strong travel records, sufficient funds and a clear purpose of travel.
