Providus Bank and Unity Bank Merge to Form ProvidusUnity Bank

By

Providus Bank and Unity Bank have completed their merger. The new entity is called ProvidusUnity Bank. The merger follows final approvals from regulators, shareholders, and the courts.

The combined bank says it will focus on financial inclusion and supporting Nigeria's economic growth. It aims to offer stronger capital, a wider national reach, and better services for businesses and individuals.

ProvidusUnity Bank will combine Providus Bank's digital banking strength with Unity Bank's large branch network. The new institution expects to serve more retail, SME, and corporate customers across the country.

Management says the merger aligns with ongoing reforms in Nigeria's financial sector. The goal is to build stronger banks that can support long-term economic development and help Nigeria achieve a trillion-dollar economy.

Customers can expect uninterrupted services during the integration. In time, they will gain access to improved digital platforms, better technology, and a wider network of banking channels.
