Access Holdings Plc has announced the retirement of Executive Director Bolaji Agbede. She will leave the Board of Directors on June 30, 2026, after her term ends.

The company disclosed this in a notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Thursday, June 25. The filing was signed by company Secretary Sunday Ekwochi.

Agbede joined Access Bank in 2003 as an Assistant General Manager. She later became Group Head of Human Resources in 2010 and Group Head of Business Development in 2013. She returned to human resources as Group Head in 2015 before moving to the bank's African operations as Executive Director in March 2021. She took on the role of Group Executive Director, Business Support in January 2022.

Her profile rose nationally in February 2024. She was appointed Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings after the death of former Group CEO Dr. Herbert Wigwe in a helicopter crash in the United States. The appointment was part of the group's leadership continuity plan to ensure stability during a difficult period.

Agbede served as Acting Group CEO until August 2025 when Mr. Innocent Ike took over.

The Board commended her for her contributions to the growth, transformation and institutional development of the Access Group over the years.
