Femi Otedola visits Aliko Dangote in Monaco, gives him a 'new title'

By

Billionaire Femi Otedola hosted Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, at his home in Monaco on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Otedola shared a photo of the two together on his verified X account, calling Dangote 'Africa's greatest industrialist' and a '$200 billion man in the waiting'.

Otedola wrote: 'A beautiful day at home in Monaco with my bestie, Africa's greatest industrialist. $200 billion man in the waiting @AlikoDangote. Friendship remains one of the greatest investments.'

The post quickly drew reactions from Nigerians online. Many admired the rare public display of friendship between the two business moguls.

Otedola and Dangote have a long history of supporting each other's business ventures. In May 2025, Otedola visited the Dangote Refinery and described it as a monument to Nigerian ambition. Reports also suggest Otedola is interested in acquiring shares in the refinery ahead of its planned IPO later in 2026.

Social media users reacted with mixed views. One user, @Ossanaquest, wondered if Nigeria would be better off with Dangote as president and Otedola as vice president. Another user, @mrkorgofficial, said: 'Dangote does the manufacturing, Otedola takes care of the monies and finances. As long as Dangote, BUA etc remains on the Billionaires list, Otedola is.'
