Air Peace gets approval for direct Nigeria-Brazil flights, eyes US, Canada, China routes

By

Air Peace has secured approval from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to operate scheduled flights between Nigeria and Brazil. This is the first time a Nigerian carrier will offer direct air connectivity between the two countries.

The approval covers passenger, cargo and mail services. The airline says direct flights will take about seven hours. Currently, travellers often spend nearly two days due to multiple stopovers.

Air Peace described the approval as a major step in its transformation from a regional airline into a globally recognised carrier. The route is expected to boost tourism, trade, investment and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Brazil.

Beyond Brazil, the airline has applied to Canadian and US aviation authorities for landing permits. It is also eyeing routes to China and Saudi Arabia as part of its aggressive expansion strategy.

New African routes are set to launch in August. This reinforces Air Peace's position as Nigeria's leading airline.
