ASIS 2026 targets $500 million in deals as Abuja summit takes off

By

The Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS) 2026 is set to mobilise over $500 million in investments for sustainable development across the continent. The summit will take place from July 22 to 24, 2026, at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos.

Organisers announced the plans at a high-level press conference at the United Nations House in Abuja on Wednesday. Sterling One Foundation, the United Nations in Nigeria, and other strategic partners are behind the event.

More than 2,000 delegates from over 50 countries are expected. They include heads of government, global investors, development finance institutions, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and social innovators.

The theme for this year is 'Financing for Development: Building Resilience and Transforming Emerging Economies.' The summit will focus on critical sectors like education, healthcare, and climate resilience.

United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, Mohamed Malick Fall, said Africa's greatest opportunity lies in the strength of its partnerships. He noted that ASIS is a platform where governments, the private sector, development partners, and civil society can mobilise investments and innovation.

Organisers said ASIS has moved beyond a discussion forum. It is now one of Africa's leading platforms for mobilising capital and driving market-led solutions to development challenges.

This edition comes at a critical time. African economies are dealing with shifting global capital flows, climate risks, food insecurity, and the need to create opportunities for a rapidly growing youth population.
