Petrol Price Drops at Lagos Filling Stations After Dangote Refinery Cuts Gantry Price by N25

By

Petrol pump prices have started falling at several filling stations in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria after Dangote Petroleum Refinery reduced its gantry price by N25 per litre. The refinery cut the ex-depot price from N1,275 to N1,250 per litre, triggering a fresh round of price cuts across the downstream market.

Lagos pump prices now range between N1,272 and N1,295

In the Igando area of Lagos, pump prices now hover between N1,272 and N1,295 per litre, depending on stock levels and logistics costs. At the Toluwalase Petroleum filling station, a litre sold for N1,272, the cheapest in that area. MRS Oil Nigeria Plc sold at N1,279, while Ardova Plc charged N1,280. NNPC Retail had the highest price in the area at N1,295.

Some stations adjusted prices immediately after the new gantry price took effect. Others kept old rates because they had bought stock at the previous higher cost before the reduction.

Depot prices also fall across the country

Depot owners have slashed prices to match Dangote’s new rate. Latest depot prices include A.A Rano at N1,248, AIPEC at N1,247, Aiteo at N1,248, and Ardova at N1,248. Dangote and Pinnacle both list at N1,251, while Rain Oil is at N1,250. In Port Harcourt, Bulk Strategic sells at N1,275 and Liquid Bulk at N1,275. Aradel remains higher at N1,660.

Price cuts spread outside Lagos

Outside Lagos, pump prices have also begun to tumble, though not as sharply. An NNPC retail station in Abeokuta, Ogun State, sold petrol at N1,295 per litre.

Earlier, Dangote Refinery also reduced aviation fuel (Jet A1) by N100 per litre, bringing the ex-depot price to N1,550. That move is expected to ease operating costs for airlines.
